He was expelled from Totnes (c.1088) for supporting the rebellion against King William II, and this lordship was then granted to [NONA351] Roger de Nonant (born at Nonant-le-Pin, Orne, Normandy, c.1058). whose family than held Totnes for a further three generations, when it was returned to one of Johel's descendants, [ABER371] William de Briouze (c.1199).
