8.   [BAYL621] Edward Baylie married (at Kirkby Lonsdale, 27th April 1682 [or 1681]) [MOOR622] Agnes Moore (born 1660, see MOORE), both of Middleton. They had ten children born and baptised at Middleton as follows:

• Margaret (baptised 25th February 1682-83);

• Isabel (baptised 12th April 1685), was a beneficiary in the will of her maternal grandfather, [MOOR611] Robert Moore, who died in January 1704;

• Robert (baptised 8th May 1687);

• Ellin (baptised 1st September 1689);

• unnamed child (-), died at Middleton (buried there 20th November 1691);

• Agnes (baptised 12th March 1692-93), married (at Middleton, 27th May 1716) Edward Garnett (son of 8. James Garnett);

• Edward (baptised 20th January 1694-95), died at Middleton (buried there 25th April 1714);

• 7. [BAYL631] Joseph (baptised 10th January 1696-97), married "Janex" Turner, see later;

•  Mary (baptised 2nd February 1700-01), married (at Middleton, 8th August 1725) James Braithwaite;

• James (baptised 13th June 1703).

Edward died at Middleton (buried there 3rd February 1703-04), and Agnes died at Middleton also (buried there 17th November 1736).

7.   [BAYL631] Joseph "Baylif" (born 1697) married (at Middleton, 4th November 1723) [TURN632] "Janex" Turner. They had seven children born and baptised at Middleton (all baptisms recorded as Baylie) as follows:

• Edward (baptised 20th June 1725), married Grace;

• Joseph (baptised 6th November 1726), married Elizabeth;

• Agnes (baptised 8th September 1728), died at Middleton (buried there 13th July 1735);

•  Mary (baptised 10th January 1730-31), died at Middleton (buried there 12th February 1736-37);

• 6. [BAYL642] Jane (baptised 18th March 1732-33), married James Shepherd, see later;

•  Robert (baptised 16th January 1735);

• John (baptised 26th March 1738), married (at Middleton, 12th September 1761) Anne Baines.

Jane died at Middleton (buried there 13th November 1765), and Joseph, a pauper, died (age 97) at Middleton also (buried there 28th July 1793).
