CEVA MARCH COUNTY

[SALU361] March Count Bonifacio of Western Liguria m. [CREP355] Agnes de Vermandois
. [CEVA371] March Count Anselmo of Ceva & Clavesana m. ?
. . [CEVA381] March Count Guglielmo I of Ceva m. --- di Vento
. . . [CEVA391] March Count Guglielmo II of Ceva m. [SALU392] Adelheid di Saluzzo
. . . . [CEVA401] March Count Giorgio of Ceva m. Elisa di Este
. . . . . [CEVA412] Luigia di Ceva m. [SALU411] March Count Tommaso I of Saluzzo

There are problems reconciling the conflicting dates for all generations, through lack of firm evidence. There were two consecutive Guglielmo's suggesting their dates have been confused, and similarly two consecutive Giorgio's

26.  [CEVA371] Anselmo (born c.1100, son of [SALU361] Bonifacio, see SALUZZO (PIEDMONT)), 1st March Count of Ceva & Clavesana (1125-[1140]).

25.  [CEVA381] Guglielmo I di Ceva (born c.1145), March Count of Ceva & Clavesana (-1197), married --- (unnamed daughter of 26. --- di Vento, Consul of Genoa). He died 1197.

24.  [CEVA391] Guglielmo II (born c.1180), March Count of Ceva & Clavesana (1197-1219), married [SALU392] Adelheid (daughter of March Count Manfred II, see SALUZZO (PIEDMONT)). He died 1219.

23.  [CEVA401] Giorgio I di Ceva, [born c.1210] March Count of Ceva & Clavesana (1219-68), married [ESTE422] Menzia/Elisa (alleged daughter of March Count Alberto, see ESTE MARCH COUNTY), though for the present this connection is ignored through lack of reliable proof). Giorgio died 1268.

Other sources say she was the daughter of Guglielmo II, but both versions seem improbable. Alternatively, the later Giorgio II (born c.1240) would appear a more likely father.

Luigia married [SALU411] March Count Tommaso I (see SALUZZO (PIEDMONT)).
