Two families of Crabtree are involved in this history, who were no doubt originally from the same root.

10. [CRAB601] Abraham Crabtree may have been born in 1636 (the son of Thomas), and may have married (at Bingley, 1666) [WILK602] Elizabeth Wilkes. They had two children baptised at Bradford as follows:
9. [CRAB611] Thomas (baptised 18th August 1667), married Anne Bollan, see later;
Elizabeth (baptised 16th December 1670).
In the 1672 Hearth Tax there was an Abraham Crabtree at Manningham, who is most likely this person.
9. [CRAB611] Thomas Crabtree (born 1667) married (at Bradford, 2nd May 1683) [BOLN612] Anne Bollan. They had five children born in the Horton area and baptised at Bradford as follows:
Mary (born at Horton, baptised 30th December 1683);
Thomas (born at Little Horton, baptised 20th September 1685);
Ann (born at Great Horton, baptised 4th May 1690), died (age 5, buried at Bradford, St. Peter, 24th June 1695);
James (born at Great Horton, baptised 24th January 1691-92);
8. [CRAB621] Aaron (born at Heaton, baptised 8th January 1692-93), married Sara Armitage, see later.
Thomas died at Heaton (buried at Bradford, 25th December 1693).
8. [CRAB621] Aaron Crabtree (born 1693) married (at Bradford, 19th September 1714) [ARMT622] Sara Armitage. They had eight children, mostly born at Heaton, and baptised at Bradford as follows:
John (born at Heaton, baptised 25th March1715);
Mary (born at Heaton, baptised 4th August 1717);
Joseph (born at Heaton, baptised 26th July 1719);
7. [CRAB632] Hannah (born at Heaton, baptised 21st July 1721), married William Lee, see later;
a child unnamed (-), buried at Bradford, St. Peter, (9th March 1724-25);
Aaron (born at Heaton, baptised 11th August 1728), married (at Bradford, 26th November 1752) Ann Homer;
Moses (born at Heaton, baptised 16th May 1731);
Sarah (born at Shipley, baptised 23rd July 1736).
An Aaron died at Heaton (buried at Bradford, St. Peter, 10th March 1761) and is presumed to be this person.
7. [CRAB632] Hannah Crabtree (born 1721, daughter of Aaron) married (at Bradford, 24th December 1741) a clothier [LEEE631] William Lee (born 1719, see LEE).

11. [CRAX591] William Crabtree and his wife had at least one child born at Heaton and baptised at Bradford as follows:

10. [CRAX601] William Crabtree (born 1658) married (at Bradford, 30th June 1681) [NORN602] Agnes Norton (born 1658, see NORTON). They had at least one child born at Heaton and baptised at Bradford as follows:

Agnes (wife of William junior) died at Heaton (buried at Bradford, St. Peter, 24th October 1708), and William (a yeoman) died at Heaton also (buried at Bradford, St. Peter, 8th June 1720).
9. [CRAX611] William Crabtree (born 1682) married 1. (at Bradford, 22nd July 1703) Susannah Smith. She died at Heaton (buried at Bradford, 24th October 1708), and afterwards William (of Heaton) married 2. (at Bradford, 25th May 1709) [BREK612] Mary Bretherick (also of Heaton). William and Mary had three children born at Heaton and baptised at Bradford as follows:
William (baptised 16th April 1710);
Thomas (baptised 17th October 1711);
8. [CRAX621] Joshua (baptised 6th October 1714), married 1. Hannah Rushworth, see later.
Mary died at Bradford (buried at St. Peter, 11th April 1739), and was survived by her husband William (a clothier).
8. [CRAX621] Joshua Crabtree (born 1714, son of William & Mary) married 1. (at Bradford, 23rd April 1739) [RUSW622] Hannah Rushworth. They had at least one child born at Manningham and baptised at Bradford as follows:

Hannah died in child-birth at Manningham (buried at Bradford, St. Peter, 28th January 1746). Barely eight months later, Joshua married 2. (at Bradford, 2nd November 1746) Elizabeth Murgatroyd, by whom he had a further three children born at Manningham and baptised at Bradford as follows:
John (baptised 21st August 1747);
Joshua (baptised 9th April 1749);
Betty (baptised 14th September 1750).
Joshua’s 2nd wife Elizabeth died at Bradford (buried at St. Peter, 23rd August 1763), and Joshua (a yeoman) died at Heaton (buried at St. Peter, 23rd October 1775).
7. [CRAX632] Sarah Crabtree (born 1746, daughter of Joshua & Hannah) married (at Bradford, 2nd October 1764) a weaver [RHOX631] John Rhodes (born 1739, see RHODES).
