DUFFAN

A Matthew Duffan (son of Thomas) was baptised at Leeds, St. Peter, (26th November 1599). This may be the correct Matthew, but there is no proof

[DFFN601] Mathew Duffan married (at Crofton, 12th July 1631) [HARS602] Jane 
Harrison.

They had eleven children born and baptised at Crofton as follows:

• Mathew (baptised 27th May 1632), died (age 10 weeks) at Crofton (buried there 7th August 1632);

• Willyam (baptised 21st July 1633);

• Hellena (baptised 8th May 1633), died (age 14) at Crofton (buried there 12th January 1650/1);

• Anne (baptised 1st November 1638);

• Mathew (baptised 25th July 1641);

• John (baptised 10th October 1643), died (age 15) at Crofton (buried there 4th November 1658);

• Thomas (baptised 9th February 1646/7);

• Francis (baptised 10th December 1649), died (age 2 months) at Crofton (buried there 27th February 1649/50);

• unnamed child (-), buried at Crofton, 21st January 1650/1);

• Robert (a twin, born and baptised 15th January 1654), died (age 6 weeks) at Crofton (buried there 1st March 1654);

• [DFFN612] Ellen (a twin, born and baptised 15th January 1654), married Francis Addy, see later.

Jane during childbirth at Crofton (15th January 1654, and was buried there the same day), and on the same day her twins were baptised. Mathew died at Crofton also (buried there 30th August 1668).

[DFFN612] Ellin Duffan (born 1654, daughter of Matthew) married (at Darrington, 27th September 1683) [ADDY611] Francis Addy (born 1654, see ADDY), of Kirk Smeaton.
