8.  [DUFF621] Charles Duffield, and his wife Anne had three children born at Lumley, and baptised at Kirkby Malzeard as follows:

• 7. [DUFF631] William (baptised 8th January 1693-94), married Dorothy Smith, see later;

• Anne (baptised 8th March 1698-99), died (age 2) at Lumley (buried at Kirkby Malzeard, 6th December 1701);

• Mary (baptised 2nd February 1700-01).

There was an earlier note that Charles (of Lumley) was surety for a baptism at Kirkby Malzeard (13th December 1685). Anne died at Lumley (buried at Kirkby Malzeard, 30th April 1700, perhaps during child birth). Charles was buried at Ripon (either 14th February 1704-05 or 8th April 1728).

7.  [DUFF631] William Duffield (born 1694), married (at Kirkby Malzeard, 23rd January 1715-16) [SMIT632] Dorothy Smith, both of Mickley. They had four children born at Mickley, and baptised at Kirkby Malzeard as follows:

• Hester (baptised 13th September 1718), died (age 2 weeks) at Mickley (buried at Kirkby Malzeard, 27th September 1718);

• 6. [DUFF641] William (-), married Jane Brooksbank, see later;

• Lambert (baptised 21st April 1726);

• John (baptised 23rd March 1728-29).

William died intestate, presumably in the Kirkby Malzeard parish, and administration was granted (25th June 1735) to his wife Dorothy. Dorothy died at Grewelthorpe (buried at Kirkby Malzeard, 20th April 1777).

6.  [DUFF641] William Duffield, (yeoman of Azerley) married (at Bedale, 15th December 1745) [BROO642] Jane Brooksbank. They had eight children born at Galwhey, and baptised at Kirkby Malzeard as follows:

• Mary (baptised 4th February 1746-47);

• Jane (baptised 18th November 1748);

• William (baptised 19th December 1750);

• George (baptised 24th January 1755);

• John (baptised September 1756), married (at Kirk Hammerton, 22nd August 1782) Ellen Webster;

• 5. [DUFF652] Ellen (baptised 1st November 1759), married Matthew Hammon, see later;

• Dorothy (baptised 9th April 1764), married (at Knaresborough, 20th December 1790) John Newby;

• Elizabeth (baptised 11th October 1767).
