9.    [AUWO611] John Haworth married (at Rampton, 16th May 1661) [SMTE612] Elizabeth Smith. They had three children born and baptised at Rampton as follows:

• Richard (baptised 26th August 1662), lived a few days;

• 8. [AUWO621] John (baptised 30th August 1663), see later;

• Ellen (baptised - May -, day and year omitted in register).

In the 1661 Hearth Tax assessment, John Ayworth had one hearth. Elizabeth died at Rampton (28th September 1699), recorded as simply “widow Ayworth”.

8.    [AUWO621] John Ayworth (born 1663) married 1. (at Rampton, 23rd April 1688) Elizabeth Adams. They had two children born and baptised at Rampton:

• John (baptised 9th January 1688-89), presumably died young;

• Elizabeth (baptised 12th October 1690 & 28th June 1691).

Elizabeth "wife of Joh. Aueworth" died at Rampton (buried there, 27th June 1690, shortly after her last child was born). Afterwards John Eworth married 2. (at Ely, 18th October 1692) [ELGE622] Frances Elger. They had ten children born and baptised at Rampton as follows:

• Ann (baptised 3rd May 1696), died (age 7 months) at Rampton (buried there 20th December 1696);

• Frances (baptised 13th February1697-08), lived 2 weeks;

• John (baptised 25th February 1699-1700), died (age 3 months) at Rampton (buried there 4th May 1700);

• Thomas (baptised 20th December 1701), married (at Rampton, 12th September 1731) Ruth Sparrow;

• Susan (baptised 11th July 1703), lived 2 months;

• Mary (baptised 8th September 1704), died (age 2) at Rampton (buried there 11th June 1708);

• 7. [AUWO632] Mary (baptised 12th June 1709, but forename omitted in register), see later;

• Anne (baptised 8th July 1711), lived a few days;

• John (baptised 1st March 1712-13);

• Francis (baptised 15th June 1715), died (age 3 months) at Rampton (buried there 3rd September 1715).

John Ayworth died at Rampton (buried there 20th July 1722), and Frances Ayworth died at Rampton (buried there 19th September 1728).
