The following account is based upon the assumption that the Susannah Jackson who married Richard Barrow was the daughter of James Jackson who lived at Gatebeck. This has so far been neither proved nor disproved.

BRADLEY

[BRAD591] John Bradelay m. Allyce Parke
. [BRAD602] Allice Bradley m. [JCKS601] James Jackson

11.  [BRAD591] John Bradelay married (at Heversham, 5th February 1609-10) Allyce Parke. They had three children baptised at Heversham as follows:

JACKSON

[JCKS601] James Jackson m. [BRAD602] Allice Bradley
. [JCKS611] James Jackson m. Anne -
. . [JCKS622] Susannah Jackson m. [BARW621] Richard Barrow

10.  [JCKS601] James Jackson married (at Heversham, 28th December 1638) [BRAD602] Allice Bradley (born 1612, see BRADLEY above). They had three children baptised at Heversham as follows:

James died at Preston Patrick (buried at Burton-in-Kendal, 5th November 1669), and Alice also died at Preston Patrick (buried at Burton-in-Kendal, 13th June 1672).

James had 1 hearth at Preston Patrick at the 1669 Hearth Tax.

9.  [JCKS611] James Jackson (born 1639) married (around 1661) Anne ---. They had about eight children (presumably all born at Gatebeck near Preston Patrick) and baptised at Burton-in-Kendal as follows:

There was one family of Jackson in the Constablewick of Preston Patrick in Heversham at the Hearth Tax survey (1674): Jo[hn]. had 1 hearth. In addition there was one family of Jackson in the Constablewick of Preston Patrick in Kendale at the same Hearth Tax survey, shown as: "Hutton Jo[hn]. per Jackson Ja[mes]. had 1 hearth". There were several families of Jackson in the Constablewick of Stainton at the same Hearth Tax survey: Wd. 2 hearths; Jo[hn]. 5 hearths; Ja[mes]. 1 hearth.

James (specifically recorded as being the father of Nicholas) died at Gatebeck (buried at Burton-in-Kendal, 23rd January 1681-82), and Anne ("relict of James Jackson") also died at Gatebeck (buried at Burton-in-Kendal, 19th March 1701-02).
