[KILP411] William FitzNorman (born c.1048, son of [LAME401] Norman de la Mare, see DE LA MARE NORMANDY), was granted Kilpeck in the Welsh Marches by King William I. At the Domesday Survey he held as tenant-in-chief Hopton Sellers, Munsley, Venn's Green and The Vern (in Herefordshire) and English Bicknor, Mitcheldean, Moorcroft and Taynton (in Gloucestershire). He built Kilpeck Castle (c.1080).
