Pepin was a nobleman of the Frankish kingdom of Austrasia. He joined with [PEPI191] Arnulf, Bishop of Metz, (see AUSTRASIA), in the struggle to overthrow Brunhild, Queen of Austrasia (613), and subsequently governed the kingdom as Mayor of the Palace for Brunhild’s successor, [CHIL171] King Clotaire II (see CHILPERIC II). Itta died 639, and Pepin died 640.
