6. [SMTM641] William Smith, a husbandman, married (at Liverpool, St. Nicholas, 8th January 1775) [KILB642] Margaret Kilbreth (widow, born 1752). William and Margaret had eight children as follows:
William (born at West Derby, 29th July 1777, baptised there 18th August 1777), died (age 71) at Eccleston (buried at Prescot, 4th September 1848);
James (born at West Derby, 29th November 1778, baptised there 27th December 1778);
Ellen (born at Roby, 11th September 1780, baptised at Huyton, 1st October 1780). She had an illegitimate daughter, Jane (born at Huyton, 1st September 1909, baptised at Huyton, 17th September 1809);
Martha (born at Roby, 25th February 1785, baptised at Huyton, 20th March 1785);
Jane (born at Roby, 27th August 1788, baptised at Huyton, 21st September 1788), married (at Liverpool, Toxteth, St. James, 23rd January 1814) Thomas Houghton (a farmer);
John (born at Roby, 30th April 1790, baptised at Huyton, 30th May 1790);
Henry (born at Knowsley, 4th April 1792, baptised at Huyton, 29th April 1792);

William (a farmer) died at Rainhill (buried at Prescot, 22nd March 1812), and Margaret died (age 79) at Rainhill also (buried at Prescot also, 21st March 1832).
