9. [SPIC611] Francis Spicer married (at Sedbergh, 25th May 1655) Alice Wharton. They had six children baptised at Sedbergh as follows:
John (born 15th April 1654, baptised 5th July 1665). Note this child was born before his parents' marriage;
Henry (born 15th July 1656, baptised 5th July 1665), presumably married (at Sedbergh, 23rd April 1710) Elizabeth Halton. Henry died at Sedbergh (buried there, 14th June 1721), and his widow Elizabeth presumably married either 2. George Greenwood (at Sedbergh, 5th December 1723), or else 2. John Adamthwaite (at Sedbergh, 14th April 1724);
Margret (born 10th March 1658, baptised 5th July 1665);
Christopher (born 27th October 1660, baptised 5th July 1665);
8. [SPIC621] Thomas (born [1663] at Dowbigin, baptised 28th October 1663), married Isabel Burton, see later;
Myles (born [1665] at Dowbygin, baptised 3rd May 1665).
Francis died at Dowbiggen (buried at Sedbergh, 11th February 1689), and Alice died at Dowbigin also (buried at Sedbergh, 10th September 1708).
8. [SPIC621] Thomas Spicer (born 1663) married (at Garsdale, 10th April 1703) [BURT622] Isabel Burton. They had three children born and baptised at Garsdale as follows:
Francis (baptised 8th April 1704), buried at Garsdale (7th May 1714);
7. [SPIC631] James (baptised 7th November 1713), married Margaret Walker, see later;
Allice (baptised 24th June 1716), buried at Garsdale (18th May 1717).
The family presumably returned to Dowbiggin in Sedbergh some time before 1723. Thomas died at Dowbiggin (buried at Sedbergh, 11th July 1723), followed by Isabel (buried at Sedbergh 23rd May 1739).
7. [SPIC631] James Spicer (born 1713) married (at Sedbergh, 7th May 1737) [WALK632] Margaret Walker (born 1706, see WALKER). They had five children born and baptised at Sedbergh as follows:
Elizabeth (baptised 6th January 1737-38);
Thomas (baptised 29th September 1739), married 1. by licence (at Sedbergh, 5th May 1760) Isabel Fothergill (died age 49 at Howgill, buried at Sedbergh, 8th May 1781); then 2. by banns (at Sedbergh, 9th May 1786) Mary Bownas (widow);
6. [SPIC642] Jane (baptised 22nd August 1742), married Richard Booth, see later;
Edmund (baptised 13th October 1744), married by licence (at Sedbergh, 4th May 1779) Elizabeth Lamb;
Margaret (baptised 29th April 1749), married by licence (at Sedbergh, 24th September 1774) John Taylor.
Margaret ("wife of James") died at Sedbergh (buried there 13th October 1773). James died (age 75, buried there 28th April 1789).
6. [SPIC642] Jane Spicer (born 1742, daughter of James) married by licence (at Sedbergh, 13th April 1765) [BOTH641] Richard Booth (born 1743, see BOOTH).
