6. [TOES641] James Toes, married (at Pickhill, 4th October 1736) [THON642] Margaret Thornton (born 1713, see THORNTON). They had ten children born at Holme, and baptised at Pickhill as follows:

Mary (baptised 22nd July 1737), lived a few days;
Margaret (baptised 22nd January 1738-39), died age 3;
Anne (baptised 16th August 1741), married (at Pickhill, 11th April 1774) Thomas Britain;
twin Margaret (baptised 29th August 1743), lived 2 weeks;
twin Mary (baptised 29th August 1743), lived 6 weeks;
William (baptised 3rd October 1744), died young;
William (baptised 9th August 1747);
5. [TOES651] James (baptised 14th October 1749), married Ann Bland, see later;
Margaret (baptised 15th February 1751-52);
Elizabeth (baptised 16th November 1754).

Margaret died at Holme (buried at Pickhill, 10th February 1772), and James died (age 77) at Holme also (buried at Pickhill, 8th October 1785).

5. [TOES651] James Toes (born 1749), married (at Ripon, 1st December 1771) [BLAD652] Ann Bland (born 1750, see BLAND), witnessed by Mary Bland (Ann's aunt) and Thomas Campey. They had seven children born at Skelton-on-Ure, and baptised at Ripon as follows:

Margaret (baptised 6th December 1777);
Thomas (baptised 3rd August 1780);
Ann (baptised 21st April 1783), married (at Ripon, 3rd January 1807) Jeremiah Walls;
James (born c.1784), never married;
4. [TOES662] Margaret (baptised 31st July 1787), married George Duffield, Hammond, see later;
William (baptised 12th August 1790);
Mary (baptised 19th May 1793), married (at place and date unknown) William Whittington.

Ann died at Skelton-on-Ure (buried at Ripon, 7th January 1803), James died (age 76) at Skelton-upon-Ure also (buried there, 18th November 1824).
