11.   [USTO591] Richard Ustonson was a tenant at Casterton, of Mary Davenport of Bromehall [Bramhall], Cheshire, in 1593, (see "Catholic Records Society", Vol. XVIII journal). It is presumed he had at least two children as follows:

• 10. [USTO601] Richard (-), married Issabelle Cooke, see later;

• John (-), married (at Kirkby Lonsdale, 29th November 1635) Isabel Atkinson. They had several children baptised at Kirkby Lonsdale (1635-49).

10.   [USTO601] Richard Ustinson married (at Kirkby Lonsdale, 21st November 1639) Issabelle Cooke. It is assumed they had at least one child as follows, but his baptised has not been traced:

Richard Ustinson was assessed for 1 hearth in the 1674 Hearth Tax survey at Kirkby Lonsdale. Isabel Ustonson died at Kirkby Lonsdale (buried there 1st October 1699).

9.    [USTO611] Richard Ustinson married (at Kirkby Lonsdale, 14th April 1661) Jennet Tyson. They had the following children baptised at Kirkby Lonsdale as follows:

• 8. [USTO622] Julian (baptised 4th March 1665-66), married John Harling, see later;

• Thomas (baptised 23rd May 1669), married (at Kirkby Lonsdale, 14th January 1698-99) Alice Harling, both of Kirkby Lonsdale;

• John (baptised 12th September 1672) died young (buried at Kirkby Lonsdale, 9th August 1676);

• John (baptised 26th August 1677);

• Richard (baptised 7th June 1679), presumably died young;

• Richard (baptised 8th August 1680).

Richard Ustonson of Upper Biggins was in litigation (at Kirkby Lonsdale in May 1662) against Henery Richardson concerning the boundary of two dales in a close called Buts Dale.

There was an Ellen (wife of Richard Ustinson) who was buried at Kirkby Lonsdale (29th September 1666), unexplained.
