The confirmation of a link between the Vose families at Lunt and Rainford is Esther Vose (born at Lunt, 1707) who married (at Sefton, 1730) Joseph Birch. This family moved from Lunt to Rainford (between 1736 and 1738), probably following Esther's elder brother William Vose (born at Lunt, 1704), who was at Rainford by 1728.

9.  [VOSE611] Thurstan Vose and his wife Mary had three children born at Lunt and baptised at Sefton as follows:

The family later moved from Lunt to Rainford, where Thurstan was Chapel Warden (1729),  though when Esther married (at Sefton, 1730) she said she was "of this parish". Mary died at Rainford (buried there 4th February 1739-40), and Thomas died at Rainford also (buried there 17th April 1742).

8.  [VOSE621] William Vose (born 1705), a labourer, married (at Prescot, 22nd April 1728) [MINS622] Jane Minshall (born 1706, see MINSHALL), both of Rainford.

William was Chapel Warden at Rainford (1736) and shown as a husbandman when he died at Rainford (buried there 30th December 1778), and Jane died at Rainford also (buried there 2nd April 1788).

7.  [VOSE631] Thurstan Vose (born 1729), a husbandman, married (at Rainford, 21st August 1754) [RIGB632] Mary Rigby (born 1736, see RIGBY) of St. Helens. They had thirteen children born at Windle and baptised at Rainford as follows:

6.     [VOSE641] William Vose (born 1755), a husbandman of Prescot, married 1. (at Farnworth, 30th October 1775) Christian Pye, witnessed by James Barron and Richd Pye. They had one child born at Windle and baptised at Prescot as follows:

Christian died shortly afterwards, and William (a husbandman) then married 2. (at Prescot, 22nd April 1781) [ELLI642] Pheby Ellison (born 1750, see ELLISON), both of Windle, witnessed by William Banister (parish clerk) and Thomas Calderbank. They had eight children born at either Hardshaw or Windle, and all baptised at Windle as follows:

The family later moved to Eccleston (by 1812), then afterwards to Rainhill. William (a farmer) died (age 67) at Rainhill (9th August 1822, buried at Rainford, 13th August 1822), and Pheby died (age 77) at Rainhill also (buried at Rainford 27th August 1834). Both William and Pheby left Wills.

5.  [VOSE651] Samuel Vose (born 1797, son of William & Pheby), a labourer, married (at Liverpool, St. Peter, 20th November 1820) [SMTM652] Margaret Smith (born 1799, see SMITH). They had six children born at Rainhill and baptised at Prescot as follows:

Samuel (a gamekeeper) died (age 34) at Rainhill (buried at Prescot, 2nd January 1831), and Margaret (a farmer of 2 acres, with cows) died (age 65, of heart disease and dropsy) at Rainhill also (13th December 1864, buried there 16th December 1864).

4.  [VOSE661] William Vose (born 1821), a file cutter, married (at Liverpool, St. Peter, 21st September 1845) [HOUG662] Eliza Houghton (born 1825, see HOUGHTON), witnessed by James Houghton and Jane Darlington. They had eleven children born and baptised at Rainhill as follows:
